“Oneida County Board of Elections mistakenly leaves an entire town off the ballot”

CNY Central:

The Oneida County Board of Elections (BOE) will have to hold a special primary election after officials realized a clerical error caused them to leave a Republican Primary in the Town of Remsen off the ballot yesterday.

Typically, the day after an election calls for a brief celebration for those candidates who earned their way past the primaries, however, in Remsen residents will have to wait even longer to vote since the Oneida County BOE failed to include a race on the ballot.

The BOE shared a statement with CNY Central earlier Wednesday explaining that four Republicans qualified to run for two open positions on the Town of Remsen’s council, leaving voters in Remsen confused Tuesday when none of their polling places were open.
