Max Boot: “I thought the Jan. 6 committee wouldn’t matter. I was wrong.”

Insightful and well-argued column. Only quibble: while I thoroughly agree that the committee is “making a case beyond any reasonable doubt in the court of public opinion” of “Trump’s responsibility for the events of Jan. 6,” does this mean that enough members of the public who currently believe the Big Lie will abandon their belief–enough to negate the threat that the Big Lie presents for the future of American democracy? The danger is that objective reality may not prevail, despite the committee’s overwhelmingly cogent presentation of it. How to translate the committee’s work into sufficiently truth-based “public opinion” is something that we need to hear more about.
