“More than 100 GOP primary winners back Trump’s false fraud claims”

The Washington Post has a deep dive, with a very helpful graphic, on the extent to which Big Lie election denialists are winning GOP primaries this year. The story leads with this Toledo-based example:

J.R. Majewski marched to the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, and tweeted a photo with the caption: “It’s going down on 1/6.” Last month, he won the Republican nomination in an Ohio congressional district along Lake Erie.

One point that the Post’s story did not include is the fact that Majewski might have been the “Condorcet loser” in his GOP primary, meaning that he would have lost against either of his competitors in a one-on-one race. More analysis is needed on whether all (or what percentage) of these election denialists would have prevailed if they had been required to win a majority rather than just a plurality in their primaries.
