Hans von Spakovsky has written this Wall Street Journal oped. I am not sure if he’s referring to this blog in writing “During the past two years, while my nomination to the Federal Election Commission was pending–and before I withdrew last week–friends would call whenever the latest newspaper story or blog post attacking me was planted by political operatives and left-wing advocacy organizations.” But I can assure you that no political operatives or left-wing advocacy organizations ever “planted” anything with me. My own part in this story is probably my blog discovery (which I later described in a Slate article) that von Spakvosky had anonymously written a law review article supporting DOJ’s voter id decision while a lawyer at DOJ. I think facts like that, rather than any vast left-wing conspiracy, is responsible for his fate.
