The LA Times offers this report, which begins: “The Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce, California Common Cause and AARP proposed an initiative Tuesday that would change the way the state’s legislative districts are drawn, taking the politically sensitive matter away from lawmakers.”
Unlike other recent measures, I think this one has a reasonably good chance of passing if supporters spend enough to qualify it for the ballot and, if it qualifies, to defend it against expected relentless attacks by those who would stand to lose under the measure.
