“Congressional Candidates: No-Shows at Forum May Reflect Redistricting”

When a county group runs a forum for candidates whose districts split the county:

In 2012, when the Florida Legislature redrew boundaries for the state’s 27 congressional districts, Polk County was split among four districts. Some members of the Polk delegation had inquired as to why, citing that the county might be ignored.

Tuesday night’s turnout might seem to give them proof.

Another column notes the lack of competition in Florida’s races, which might also be why the forums are emptier than expected.  Still, if the situation in Florida is anything like the situation in Ohio, these candidates will still be raising plenty of money.
