Another Court Dispute Before the Election that Might Have Affected Election Outcomes

On Oct. 31, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel ran State’s high court won’t rule on disputed Green funds before election, which begins: ” A divided state Supreme Court refused late Tuesday to give a pre-election decision to Republican gubernatorial candidate Mark Green on an Elections Board order that his campaign give up $467,844 in out-of-state political action committee donations. After days of closed-door sessions, a four-justice majority gave parties in the case 20 days to file more legal arguments. A reserve judge will sort through them and report back to the court by Nov. 30 – 23 days after Tuesday’s election.” The Wall Street Journal editorialized against what it saw as a politicization of the decision of the Wisconsin Elections Board.
Now, after the election, which Green lost, he still plans to fight for the right to the money.
I don’t know anything about the race to know whether this affected the outcome, but the allegations, if true, are troubling.
