Breyer also said that the justices managed to put their politics aside for cases like Bush v. Gore, which pulled the plug on the 2000 presidential recount — a decision that left him “disappointed.” Are they also able to disregard their sports allegiances when they hear cases involving golfers or ballplayers?
“We do our best,” he said. “We’re professional.”
