This report on the oral argument before the Texas Supreme Court involving a judicial candidate who fell five signatures short on his candidacy petition quotes a Texas Supreme Court justice during the argument: “Justice Scott Brister questioned knocking candidates off the ballot for what could be considered a clerical error.
