    American University’s Center for Democracy and Election Management seeks a Project Manager to organize the follow-on activities of the Carter-Baker Commission on Federal Election Reform. The Project Manager will take the lead in developing and executing strategy to advance the Carter-Baker Commission’s recommendations. S/he will promote election reforms at the state and federal levels, in collaboration with election reform organizations, organize conferences and other events, coordinate project activities with Commission members and staff, and serve as liaison with policymakers, media contacts, and election reform organizations.
    Candidates must have extensive knowledge of U.S. election issues or of elections in comparative perspective, strong commitment to election reform, and excellent communications skills. They must also have the initiative and the organizational skills to design and organize high-profile events and work well in a fast-paced environment. A minimum of 5-7 years of professional experience is required. Candidates must have a master’s degree; a Ph.D. is strongly preferred.
