‘Chamber, American Action Network, AFSCME Spend Millions in Campaigns, Reports Show”

BNA: “While unions such as AFSCME and some other labor organizations clearly are taking advantage of the Citizens United ruling, it remains unclear to what extent corporations are taking advantage of the court decision to spend money on campaigns. Most of the conservative and pro-business groups likely receive corporate money, such as the Chamber, American Action Network, and others, but have reported no information about those funding their political efforts. Such groups apparently are relying on campaign finance rules and Federal Election Commission rulings allowing them to shield from disclosure money that is not earmarked for specific campaign expenditures.”
