Sam Issacharoff has written this article ($) for American Lawyer, suggesting that “The Hatch Act scheme could be broadened to include corporations who receive government contracts or subsidies. Those corporations
could be prohibited from using institutional funds to attempt to influence the election of those in a position to distribute those benefits.”
It’s an important idea that’s been floating out there and that I plan to address in an article this summer.
