Thank You to the ELB Contributors and to Our Readers, and a Look to 2024

As I’ve been traveling internationally over the last few weeks, I’ve had ELB contributors Derek Muller and Spencer Overton doing the major daily work that it takes to produce ELB. This should ordinarily be a sleepy time for election law issues in the midst of the holidays, but in our crazy political times it has been anything but quiet. I so appreciate not just their work and efforts, but the efforts of all the other ELB contributors who regularly write, from a diversity of perspectives, on the most important election law issues of the day in the United States.

I am grateful not only to them but to you, the ELB readers. Thank you for your suggestions, comments, encouragement and (often deserved) criticism. You are the reason it is worthwhile to put in this effort.

2024 is going to be a challenging year for U.S. democracy. I have much planned ahead to highlight some of the issues, including through the work of the Safeguarding Democracy Project and the February 2024 release of my book, A Real Right to Vote (with accompanying book tour).

As I’ve written, our democracy is not going to protect itself. It needs us, now more than ever.

Here’s to a happy, healthy, democratically vibrant, and politically stable 2024!
