Sam Wang, director of the Electoral Innovations Lab and professor at Princeton, has a new podcast Democracy Reform Meets Science. The inaugural episode, on which he is joined by Bernie Grofman and Jonathan Cervas, discusses Allen v. Milligan. I look forward to listening! I’m also pleased that the focus of this new podcast will be on structural issues concerning the electoral system (like the relationship of partisan primaries to first-past-the-post general elections), as I strongly believe these structural issues deserve at least as much attention as matters of election administration (the rules and procedures for the casting and counting of ballots) and yet have been relatively neglected in public discourse on the current deficiencies of American democracy.
