Ned Foley has this must-read post on putting the Franken-Coleman dispute in a larger context. I’ve been working on some related issues and hope to comment on this soon in light of a framework I’m developing.
My favorite part of Ned’s posting: “We don’t expect the candidates to be principled…Yet we do expect the judges to be principled, and it will be even trickier for them to do this balancing, since they don’t have obvious self-interest to ‘guide’ their answers.”
More on the trial here.
