“20 for 20: 20 Ways to Protect the 2020 Presidential Election”

The Alliance for Securing Democracy (ASD) at the German Marshall Fund of the United States and the Bipartisan Policy Center (BPC) today released 20 for 20: 20 Ways to Protect the 2020 Presidential Election. In this report, ASD’s Elections Integrity Fellow David Levine and BPC’s Elections Project Director Matthew Weil identify 20 ways states could further protect the 2020 presidential election with additional funding….

Some of the 20 recommendations include:

Mitigate the potential risks associated with administering more voting by mail due to the coronavirus

Help local election officials work with Facebook and Twitter to be identified as trusted sources

Use a social media monitoring service to help fight election disinformation and/or misinformation efforts

Further protect the state’s voter registration database from bad actors

Hire additional cybersecurity staff
