Ash Center Senior Practice Fellow Miles Rapoport will moderate a discussion with four leading voices with differing perspectives who will discuss what will be needed to make the November election work well, what they think the situation will actually be, and how voting might be changed for the future.  The Discussants are:

Kristen Clarke leads one of the country’s most important national civil rights organizations in the pursuit of equal justice for all.    PANELIST 
Joshua Kleinfeld
Professor of Law, Northwestern University

Joshua Kleinfeld teaches and writes about political, legal, and moral philosophy, criminal law, and criminal procedure. He also practices law in Northwestern’s Juvenile Criminal Defense Clinic.   PANELIST 
Rachel Kleinfeld
Senior Fellow, Carnegie Endowment

Dr. Rachel Kleinfeld focuses on issues of rule of law, security, and governance in post-conflict countries, fragile states, and states in transition. She was the founding CEO of the Truman National Security Project.  PANELIST 
Charles Stewart
Professor at MIT and Director of the MIT Election Science Laboratory

Charles Stewart III’s research and teaching areas include congressional politics, elections, and American political development.  MODERATOR 
Miles Rapoport
Senior Practice Fellow in American Democracy, The Ash Center

Miles Rapoport is a longtime organizer, policy advocate, and elected official.  Rapoport served as president of the independent grassroots organization Common Cause, headed the public policy center Demos, and was Connecticut’s Secretary of the State and a state legislator for ten years in Hartford.
