I’ve been giving a lot of talks around the election, and today I was speaking to a group about campaign financing in the 2008 presidential election. (I’m giving the same talk at UC Davis on Thursday.) One person asked me what kinds of expenses count as legitimate campaign expenses. So I talked about there being a lot of leeway. But I wish I had seen this story before I left for the talk.
