Did AIP file disclosure information with the FEC? Note: you should not rely on this article itself for the legal standard. It states that the Supreme Court in WRTL set forth exemptions from disclosure requirements. That is not correct. WRTL set out exemptions from the corporate and union PAC requirement. Richard Briffault and I filed these comments with the FEC some months ago explaining why the FEC should not extend the WRTL exemption to disclosure requirements. The FEC did not do so, but there is litigation now by the James Madison Center in an attempt to do so.
