In line with sentencing guidelines, prosecutors had recommended 19-24 years; Judge Ellis sentenced Manafort to 47 months.

As a reminder, this case (in Virginia) concerned tax fraud and bank fraud. The sentencing in Manafort’s DC case (after a plea to conspiracy based on money laundering, failure to register as an agent of a foreign principal, and witness tampering) is March 13.
