Voting Directives from Ohio Secretary of State

The AP has this report on a directive issued by Ohio Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner, which provides funding for but does not require counties to send all voters absentee voter applications. Republican legislators criticized the directive, saying that the intent of a state law passed earlier this year was to have such applications sent to all voters.
In other Ohio news, the Columbus Dispatch reports here that Brunner will require Ohio counties using touchcreen machines to have paper ballots available as an alternative, but won’t require that voters be notified of the option to vote by paper. Finally, the Youngstown Vindicator has this report on voting security directives that Brunner has issued. The directives may be found here.
