“FEC Deadlocks on Key Findings In Audit of Calif. Republican Party”

Bloomberg BNA: “The Federal Election Commission deadlocked along party lines in an April 11 vote on whether to approve staff audit findings that the California Republican Party may have received an improper extension of over $1.2 million in credit by a commercial vendor. FEC auditors concluded that the state party did not pay on time during the 2008 election cycle for telemarketing services provided a commercial firm called Strategic Fundraising Inc. The auditors concluded that the vendor gave the party too long to pay its bills, which amounts to an illegal corporate contribution to the party.”
