Will DOJ Step In With a Voting Rights Act Section 2 Suit in Pa.?

Must-read story in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

My prediction: the state trial court judge (who has said he would rule in the upcoming week) is likely to preliminarily enjoin the Pa. voter id law for this election, and if that ruling stands, DOJ would have no need to act (or act quickly).

if the state judge does not enjoin, it would seem a tough slog to bring a section 2 suit and get the voter id law enjoined by a federal court before the election.
