NH legislature overrides voter ID veto

Yesterday, the NH legislature overrode Governor Lynch’s veto of a new voter ID bill.  The bill — now law — asks voters to show a photo ID.  But crucially, those who do not have a photo ID can vote a valid ballot after executing an affidavit right there at the polls.  As with Rhode Island’s new measure, that’s a substantial difference from the new measures under attack in states like Pennsylvania, Texas, and Wisconsin, where eligible citizens without ID on election day are essentially out of luck.
