From Politico’s roundup of this morning’s Sunday talk shows:
Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett on having conversations amid a wave of political violence, on “Fox News Sunday”: “I feel like when I talk to people, people are not happy with the level of polarization in the country and the inability of people to have conversations with those whom they disagree with. And so I guess my hope is that we are at a turning point in a corner where more people want to know how to have those conversations.”
From what I’ve seen–and I may have missed some–Justice Barrett for her book tour has only spoken to friendly journalists and publications. If she really believes we need more dialogue, it would be great to see her in respectful conversation with those she is more likely to disagree with.
Update: A reader points me to this extended interview that Justice Barrett did with CBS News’s Norah O’Donnell. I was glad to see it and I hope the Justice does more of this.
And I’d like to see the liberal Justices going into more conservative media environments too, something we almost never see.
