Looks like Justin Jones could be back in the Tennessee legislature as soon as Monday

There will eventually be a special election for House District 52, but in the meantime, the Tennessee Constitution allows the legislative body of the district’s county of residence to appoint an interim representative.

And now the Nashville Metropolitan Council, the consolidated legislative body of the city and Davidson County, has said that they will hold a special meeting on Monday – and a majority have said that they will vote to send Jones right back to the state house.  More here from The Tennesseean, and here from the NYT.

At least one report claims that state leaders have threatened the Memphis-area body (Shelby County) with reprisals if they act similarly for Justin Pearson, the other state rep expelled on Thursday.
