State Supreme Court Justice N. Patrick Crooks has asked a federal judge to create a transition plan to transfer power to a new chief justice because Wisconsin’s high court is in a state of “uncertainty and turmoil.”
“I respectfully request that you exercise (your) powers to set forth such a transitional plan, in order to address the chaotic situation that exists,” Crooks wrote this week to U.S. District Judge James Peterson.
It’s the latest twist in litigation over who should be in charge of the state Supreme Court.
