“CRS: Recent 501(c)(4) Proposed Rules Could Greatly Impact Campaign Finance”

Bloomberg BNA:

Recently proposed Treasury Department rules that would curb the political activity of 501(c)(4) groups could be critical in both campaign finance law and tax law debates, though they do contain limitations, the Congressional Research Service said in a report.

The report, released April 25, was a broad analysis of campaign finance policy, focusing on tax-exempt entity issues as well as campaign contributions and disclosure requirements, among other issues.
Bloomberg does not link to the new CRS report.  I will link if someone sends it along.
