“Obama FEC Complaint Against GOP Group Highlights Big Battle Over Donor Disclosure”

Bloomberg BNA: “The FEC is prohibited from providing any information about a possible investigation of the complaint against Crossroads GPS until it is resolved. It appeared highly unlikely the deeply divided FEC could rule on the matter by Election Day. Under campaign finance law, if the FEC does not act on a complaint within 120 days, the complainant may file a lawsuit in federal court to force action. That raises the prospect of court action by the Obama campaign in the weeks before the Nov. 6 election date, though any final ruling to require disclosure of Crossroads GPS donors appears highly unlikely before that time.”
