What would actually be useful would be to know if anyone applied for one of these jobs with conservative credentials and was turned away (as liberals were turned away when von Spakovsky had a hand in hiring).  That is, if the universe of those who apply to the voting section are those with an interest in, and experience with, voting rights issues, such hiring is no surprise.  Where is the evidence that similarly qualified conservative candidates were turned away?
