May 18, 2010Just In Case Richard Blumenthal Withdraws from the Connecticut U.S. Senate Race After Ne's NominatedFollowing this blockbuster NYT story, which has moved this race to toss-up, I thought I'd look at the rules for replacing a candidate on the ballot once he or she has been nominated by a party. It looks like this is the provision (though someone who knows more about Ct. election law should come forward to correct me if I've got the wrong one) and it gives the party wide latitude to do so, so long as it comes soon enough before the general election. |
