Unions as Beneficiaries of Government Funds and Regulation under Schumer-van Hollen?

Responding to a statement I made in this article in The Hill, Sean Parnell offers these thoughts. I had not known about such government benefits and will need to learn more. It will also be interesting to see if Schumer-van Hollen is even-handed on this question, and, if it is not, if there are persuasive reasons for treating corporations and unions differently in this regard.
