The following stories have appeared over the last few days and are well worth reading:
Obama courts big contributions, but ‘micro donors’ on the rise, Chicago Sun-Times, Lynn Sweet (Lynn credits me with coining the term “micro-donors” at the Berkeley conference)
Clinton Aide’s Databank Venture Breaks Ground in Politicking, NY Times (must read article)
Great Expectations for a Conservative Group Seem All but Dashed, NY Times
Democrats Plan Lawsuit Over McCain’s Reversal on Public Campaign Financing, NY Times
Big Donors Among Obama’s Grass Roots, Washington Post (Even if you add up all the bundlers’ bundling described in this article, it comes to only $16 million of the $179 million Sen. Obama has raised so far)
Outside political groups spend heavily on races, USA Today (again, the amounts seem pretty paltry compared to overall presidential fundraising so far this year; see also the NY Times article on the difficulties of fundraising for Freedom’s Watch, noted above)
