More Undervote Issues in Florida with Electronic Voting Machines

The Miami Herald offers an editorial that begins: “Will all of the people in Miami-Dade County who went to the polls on Tuesday to cast a vote on the strong-mayor charter question but chose not to vote please raise your hand? Election officials say you took the trouble to go to the polls but didn’t cast a ballot because you want to keep your voting record perfect. Or, they say, you think you have to make it look like you voted in order to be able to vote in the next election. Really. These are the reasons given by new Secretary of State Kurt Browning for several hundred undervotes in an election that had only one item on the ballot.”
