“When Contributions Weren’t Enough, Parties Looked With Interest to Banks”

The new online and print journal, The Politico, offers this interesting report, which begins: “You’d think it would be tough to score a multimillion-dollar loan from your bank if you’ve never turned a profit, are routinely behind on your bills and make your living begging for money. Not if you’re a national political committee. The big six national party campaign committees borrowed a combined $30.5 million from banks before November’s election, according to Federal Election Commission records.”
It looks like there will be a lot of interesting material at the Politico website.
