We already knew in the aftermath of the Tom DeLay decision that Democrat Nick Lampson will appear on the general electon ballot for the CD-22, but Republican Shelley Sekula-Gibbs will not; she will be a write in. We also knew that Sekula-Gibbs’ name will appear on the ballot to replace delay in a concurrent special election to fill out the short part remaining of Tom DeLay’s term. Now comes news that Nick Lampson’s name will not appear on that special election ballot because he won’t be running in that election. I think that if Lampson really wanted to maximize voter confusion, he would have chosen to run in that election. Very interesting.
