There is no question that H.R. 9 will now pass, unamended, in the House. The action will now shift to the Senate, where hearings are ending. Senate Judiciary Committee chair Specter had previously said he wanted to get the bill out of committee and to the floor by the end of the month. It is on the agenda for the Judiciary Committee’s July 13 hearing. We’ll see if the bailout amendment or any others will be offered on the Senate side.
