A snippet: “Specifically, the opponents assert that the amendment impermissibly requires the voters to accept part of the proposed amendment which polling has shown a majority of voters oppose–prohibiting alternative forms of legal recognition and protection for relationships of same-sex couples–to obtain a change which a majority has been shown to favor––limiting the right to marry to opposite-sex couples.
