“Ex-Senator’s Death Adds Coda to Case that Shook Public Integrity”

In the wake of the tragic death of Alaska’s former U.S. Senator Ted Stevens yesterday, Main Justice has this post on the corruption case that led to his defeat in 2008, but was ultimately thrown out due to prosecutorial misconduct at the request of Attorney General Eric Holder. MJ calls the case “a low point for the Justice Department and its elite Public Integrity Section,” noting that it “led to significant internal reforms at the Justice Department and spawned several ongoing investigations.”
