I’m about to get on a plane, but I have just enough time to send this along:
- “White House Counsel Robert Bauer will assume responsibilities for lobbying, transparency, government reform and a host of other government operations issues once White House ethics adviser Norman Eisen departs for his new role as ambassador to the Czech Republic, senior administration officials confirmed Friday.”
Steve Croley is coming on board as deputy. All of this takes effect only upon Eisen’s confirmation as ambassador. (Watch the Eisen confirmation hearing before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee here.)
I take this as very good news for those who worried that ethics would take on a lower profile with Eisen’s expected departure.
