Summary Judgment in Citizens United

BNA has this report (subscription required) on the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia’s decision rejecting a challenge to FEC rules requiring disclosure of those who pay for electioneering communiciations. The three-judge court’s opinion reportedly tracks its reasons for denying a preliminary injunction in January. The Supreme Court later dismissed the PI appeal for want of jurisdiction. Citizen United’s attorney James Bopp says he plans to appeal the summary judgment decision to the Supreme Court.
