In any case, this question of what to call “joint fundraising committees” has generated considerable back and forth among wordsmiths, hacks, political money geeks and the chattering classes in general.
I personally have some reservations about “Max PACs” because PAC is a term of art denoting specific regulations at the FEC that do not apply to Joint Fundraising Committees.
I use a number of terms in this story, including “super” campaign funds. I may end up using that more than any other. But I suspect the JFC terminology is going to continue to present challenges!
