“Filibuster Challenge Meets Resistance in D.C. Circuit”

Washington’s federal appellate court appeared unlikely Tuesday to revive a nonprofit group’s lawsuit seeking to strike down the Senate’s filibuster rule.

At oral arguments, a three-judge panel questioned Common Cause’s lawyer over whether the group has legal standing to challenge the way the Senate conducts business. The nonprofit group, along with four House Democrats, lost on the issue at the district court level in December 2012.
