“The Voting Rights Act of 1965: One Vote,One Voice.”

This is the title of a remarkable website chronicling the history of the Voting Rights Act.  It generously incorporates multimedia exhibits taken from primary sources, and looks to be an exceptional resource.

And what really blows my mind is that the site’s authors are FIFTEEN YEARS OLD.  That’s right: 15.

Priya Ramamoorthy, Maanasa Nathan, Kavya Ramamoorthy, and Smrithi Mahadevan are seniors 9th graders, I believe, at Westwood High School in Austin, TX.  Their efforts won them the History of Congress Award for National History Day this year.  And it’s not a fluke: last year, they won first prize for a group website, for this remarkable site on Title IX.
