“In Wake of Hearing, Schumer Optimistic That DISCLOSE Act Will Go to Senate Floor”

Bloomberg BNA: “Democrats on the Senate Rules and Administration Committee expressed support March 29 for campaign finance legislation that would require tax code Section 501(c) organizations to disclose contributions used to pay for political advertising and speed up disclosure of donors to so-called super PACs. But, committee Republicans indicated their opposition to new disclosure requirements and suggested instead that raising limits on contributions to candidates and political parties would solve any problems with the campaign finance system.”
